Vorgeschichte Ladenwandgut Das Gebiet des Ladenwandguts wird seit dem 20. Jahrhundert als Kleingartenareal genutzt. Die ursprüngliche Ausdehnung der Gartenparzellen umfasste das gesamte Gebiet zwischen dem Stöckacker-Quartier und der Gleisspange Steigerhubel. Im Jahr 2019 wurde ein arealübergreifendes Nutzungs- und Entwicklungskonzept (NEK) zum Freiraum Ausserholligen Mitte erarbeitet. Dabei wurde explizit auch für die Familiengartenanlage Ladenwandgut und den Ladenwandweg ein Konzept erarbeitet. Im Zusammenhang mit der benachbarten Arealentwicklung vom ewb/BLS-Areal sind unterschiedliche neue Freiräume, wie zum Beispiel ein neuer Quartierpark geplant und müssen mit den vorgesehenen Flächen im Ladenwandgut koordiniert werden. Teilweise müssen Flächen für die Bewilligungsfähigkeit des Areals ewb/BLS auf den Grundstücken des Ladenwandguts nachgewiesen werden. Das Areal Ladenwandgut ist Teil der ÜO «Areal Stöckackerstrasse 33 – Ladenwandgut». In deren Erstellung wurden in einem ersten Schritt die «harten» Rahmenbedingungen wie beispielsweise Erschliessungskorridore, Spielflächen und Nachweisflächen festgehalten.
