Die Kantonsschule Küsnacht weist in den Gebäuden Johanitterhaus, Biologiegebäude,italienische Villa, Mediothek und der Umbgebung noch Kompaktleuchtstoff- und Leuchtstofflampen. Aufgrund des Verbots der Energieeffizienzverordnung EnE ist die Versorgungssicherheit der Beleuchtung nicht mehr sichergestellt. Im aktuell geplanten Projekt werden sämtliche alten Leuchtmittel während den Schulferien durch LED-Leuchtmittel bzw. Leuchten ersetzt. Weiteres werden die Lichtsteurung und der RCD Schutz an die aktuellen Richtlinien bzw. Normen angepasst.
