Die RhB führt mit den Angebotskonzepten Retica 30 und Retica 30+ in den kommenden Jahren verschiedene Angebotsschritte durch. Für die neue stündliche RE-Durchbindung Landquart - Chur muss der RE auf dem Abschnitt Landquart - Chur beschleunigt werden. Mit der Beschleunigung des Abschnitts Untervaz - Chur von heute v =100 km/h auf neu v = 110 / 120 km/h soll die angespannte Fahrlage des RE entspannt werden. Neben dem Ersatz der Weiche 51 in Untervaz sowie geometrische Anpassungen im Bereich der Weiche sind auch Anpassungen an SA-Anlagen, Kabelanlagen, Fahrleitung und Niederspannungsanlagen erforderlich. Weiter ist im Weichenbereich eine Unterbausanierung vorzunehmen und eine Entwässerung zu erstellen. Der Auftrag umfasst die Neuerstellung und Erweiterung des Unterbaus bis und mit Vorschotterung, inkl. Entwässerung, sowie die Erstellung der Tiefbauarbeiten für Kabel-, Sicherheit-, und Fahrleitungsanlagen.
