Safe School Grant Competition for Secondary Schools in Ukraine

The “Safe School” grant competition, organized by Enlightened Initiative NGO, aims to support Ukrainian schools in implementing self-defense and psycho-emotional relief courses conducted by their own educators and psychologists. The deadline for applications is 28 October 2026. The “Safe School” program is designed to create a safer educational environment by addressing both physical and psychological safety. In response to the ongoing war and prolonged stress, the program emphasizes the need for self-defense skills and violence prevention to mitigate emotional exhaustion among students and staff. Each course must consist of eight sessions, with groups of 20 participants and a session duration of 60 minutes. Can a school apply only for Lot 2? No, Lot 1 is mandatory for all winning institutions. Lot 2 is optional if the school has the capacity. Who will conduct the sessions? School staff trained by Enlightened Initiative NGO will conduct the sessions. Is the competition open to schools from all regions of Ukraine? Yes, the competition is open to general secondary education institutions throughout Ukraine. Is sports equipment included in the monetary grant?
