1. Introduction
A Spring and Well-Based Piped Drinking Water Supply Scheme is proposed to provide safe, reliable, and year-round drinking water to the Baiga community residing in the Sendurkh?r area of Pipariya Village, Bajag Development Block, District Dindori, Madhya Pradesh. At present, most families in the village depend on natural water sources and wells for their drinking water needs. During the summer season, the availability of water decreases significantly, resulting in water scarcity and increased hardship for the community. The proposed intervention will focus on the protection and development of the natural spring (Jhiria) and well located near the settlement. The water sources will be strengthened and made more sustainable, and water will be conveyed through a piped distribution system to 81 Baiga families. The project will include source protection, pumping, water storage, pipeline distribution, and community-level water management.
2. Need for the Project
- Lack of regular and safe drinking water for Baiga families.
- Reduced water availability during the summer season.

- Risk of water-borne diseases due to unsafe water sources.

3. Key Objectives of the Project
- To protect and develop the natural spring and well.
- To provide piped drinking water to 81 Baiga families.
- To establish a community-based water distribution system with 16 stand posts.
- To establish a safe water storage and pumping system.
- To develop a long-term and sustainable water management system at the community level.
4. Proposed Activities
A. Water Source Development and Protection
- Protection of the natural spring and construction of a spring box.
- Cleaning and deepening of the well.
- Construction of safety and protection measures around the well.
- Construction of a protection wall and implementation of water conservation measures around the source area.
B. Pumping and Electrical System
- Installation of 02 submersible pumps of 1.5 HP capacity each.
- Installation of 02 starter panels.
- Provision of approximately 200–300 metres of Texmo 4 mm cable.
C. Water Storage System
- Installation of a 10 KL capacity RCC storage tank.
- Construction of a safe platform and required pipe connections.
D. Pipeline and Distribution System
- Laying of HDPE pipeline.
- Construction/installation of 16 stand posts.
- Development of a safe drinking water distribution system for the community.
- Installation of necessary valves, fittings, and connections.
