Electrolysers produce hydrogen alongside oxygen and waste heat. This research will help us understand whether, and in what circumstances, those co-products could create value, reduce the delivered cost of hydrogen, and support wider deployment in New Zealand. EECA is looking for an experienced, independent research provider to: - identify and assess potential use cases for oxygen and waste heat; - quantify the value, costs and practical requirements for capturing co-benefits; - assess the potential impact on the cost of delivered hydrogen; and - consider the potential scale of these opportunities in New Zealand. This opportunity is not open to technology suppliers or potential project developers with a vested interest in the research outcomes. EECA will hold a supplier briefing to discuss the requirements of the tender and field questions from suppliers. Details are to be confirmed and will be published addendum to the tender.
