Request for Proposal: Trekking and Expedition Support Services for the Collaborative Long-term Monitoring of Glacier and Permafrost in Bhutan – Shodug Glacier, Barshong, Naro Gewog, Thimphu
The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is seeking a qualified and experienced service provider to provide trekking and expedition support for joint glacier and permafrost fieldwork with the National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology (NCHM) at Shodug Glacier, Barshong, Naro Gewog, Thimphu, Bhutan.
The assignment will cover the field campaign from 16 November to 9 December 2026 and will include transport, trekking personnel, camping, catering, safety equipment, emergency preparedness, and environmental and waste management.

The proposal should include, but not be limited to, the following:
Company profile and legal documentation, including valid registration, tax-clearance certificates, operating licences, and relevant permits
Technical proposal covering the logistics approach, campsite plan, staffing, risk and safety management, emergency evacuation, communications, equipment, and environmental management
Financial proposal, including a mandatory all-inclusive cost per person per day and separately priced permit facilitation, emergency evacuation, and optional services
Evidence of relevant high-altitude expedition experience, profiles of comparable assignments, and at least two verifiable client references Proposals must be submitted electronically to procurement@icimod.org by 30 October 2026.
