About the Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships
The Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarships aim to support talented Indian students who are pursuing advanced studies in future-focused areas of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and life sciences. The programme is designed to nurture future scientists, technologists, innovators, and leaders who can contribute to India’s research and development priorities and the country’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. Each year, up to 100 postgraduate students are selected for the scholarship programme through a competitive, merit-based selection process. Scholarship Benefits Selected scholars can receive financial and developmental support throughout their postgraduate degree.
The scholarship provides:
Up to ₹6 lakh over the duration of the degree programme. 80% of the scholarship amount provided in advance at the beginning of each academic year for tuition and direct academic expenses. The remaining 20% available upon request for professional development and personal expenses. Support for activities such as conference participation. Opportunities to interact with experts and industry professionals. Industry exposure and professional development opportunities. Volunteering and community engagement opportunities. Access to a strong network of Reliance Foundation scholars and alumni. Who Can Apply? Applicants must meet the programme’s academic, citizenship, and enrolment requirements.
Eligible applicants must:
Be resident Indian citizens. Be enrolled full-time in the first year of a postgraduate degree. Be studying an eligible STEM or Life Sciences discipline. Have secured a GATE score between 550 and 1,000, or have a minimum undergraduate CGPA of 7.5. Meet all other programme-specific eligibility requirements. Students who are already in the second year of their postgraduate programme are not eligible. Eligible Courses The scholarship is available to first-year postgraduate students studying selected future-ready disciplines, including: Students pursuing only Mathematics are not eligible under the programme. Who Is Not Eligible?
The following students are not eligible:
Students enrolled in the second year of their postgraduate programme. Students studying through non-regular modes. Students pursuing only Mathematics. Students who do not meet the required academic eligibility criteria. Applicants who do not meet the citizenship or full-time enrolment requirements. Academic Eligibility Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance. They must meet at least one of the specified academic requirements: A GATE score of 550–1,000, or An undergraduate CGPA of 7.5 or above. Meeting the academic threshold does not automatically guarantee selection, as applications are evaluated through a broader merit-based process.
