The Government of The Gambia, with the generous support of the African Development Bank (AfDB), has secured a grant of US$40 million to implement the Regional West Africa Resilient Rice Value Chain Development Program (REWARD–Gambia) . This transformative initiative is part of a broader regional effort to strengthen food security, enhance resilience to climate change, and boost inclusive economic growth by modernizing and scaling up rice production, processing, and marketing across West Africa. The REWARD–Gambia component seeks to unlock the country’s rice potential through climate-smart technologies, sustainable infrastructure, and strategic partnerships with farmers, private sector actors, and communities.
