NamTalkies is a living cultural archive built by and for Namibian communities. It invites people to translate sentences/language and validate phrases, helping preserve the sounds, expressions and cultural knowledge carried by Namibia’s languages. The event will unveil the NamTalkies Platform and introduce its purpose and functionality and highlight the collaboration between NUST’s UNESCO Chair and UNDP Namibia in supporting linguistic diversity and digital inclusion through the UNDP AI Sprint. The UNDP AI Sprint is a focused Global UNDP innovation initiative that brings partners together to rapidly identify, test and advance practical, responsible and locally relevant artificial intelligence solutions. In Namibia, it supports collaboration, local data development and inclusive AI applications that respond to national priorities while ensuring that indigenous languages and communities are represented in the digital future.
