About the Opportunity

General requirements (application eligibility) Pro Helvetia will only consider funding applications if they are: - Complete and - Submitted on time To be eligible for support, projects must: - Have a clear connection to Switzerland - Be of nationwide importance - Be adequately co-funded by other public or private means - Respect/guarantee fair working conditions Connection to Switzerland Pro Helvetia states that a connection to Switzerland exists if, for example: - The production/project is developed or implemented by artists and cultural practitioners who verifiably hold Swiss citizenship or are permanent residents and are regularly involved in relevant events in Switzerland; or - The project is created/developed/implemented by an independent group or cultural institution with a place of production in Switzerland and who is regularly and publicly active in Switzerland. Nationwide relevance Nationwide relevance may be met if, for example: - Participants are regularly involved in programmes of nationally recognised institutions in Swiss regions other than their own or abroad, and the project has transregional appeal; or - The project contributes significantly to the development and dissemination of Swiss artistic and cultural production; or - The project is significant for exchange between Switzerland’s linguistic regions. Restrictions (applications that cannot be considered) Pro Helvetia states it cannot consider funding requests if, for example: - The same part of the submitted project is already funded by other federal bodies (examples listed include the Federal Office of Culture, Presence Switzerland, Swiss National Science Foundation, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation). - The project is part of a school/university curriculum or basic training/continuing education programme (including dissertations, diploma projects, university scholarships, etc.). - Funding is intended for infrastructure and equipment costs or the operating costs of cultural facilities, archives, and collections. - The project does not depend on funding from Pro Helvetia. - The project requires travel to regions where the FDFA advises against travel at the time of application.
