RFx ID: 34741839 Organisation: Waikato District Council Open date: Wednesday, 19 August 2026 1:00 PM +12:00 Close date: Thursday, 17 September 2026 5:00 PM +12:00 Categories: 22000000 - Building and Construction Machinery and Accessories 30000000 - Structures and Building and Construction and Manufacturing Components and Supplies Region: Waikato Overview: Waikato District Council is seeking an experienced contractor to construct the Pookeno Sports Park Skatepark — a purpose-designed in-situ concrete skate facility within the Pookeno Sports Park Master Plan. Council invites tenders from experienced Skatepark contractors to deliver the street section (approximately 636 m²) comprising banks, quarterpipes, hips, funboxes, ledges, rails and a banana spine, together with bulk earthworks, drainage, steelwork, landscaping and reinstatement. Tenderers are also invited to provide a separately priced tag option (Separable Portion B) for the bowl (approximately 121.67 m²). Tenders are informed the bowl may be instructed at contract award or during the contract as a separable portion but the delivery of the bowl is subject to available funding. Council requires a single point of accountability for the full scope of works including earthworks, concrete construction, steel coping and rails, quality assurance to skateable-finish standard, and health and safety obligations throughout the duration of the contract. If your organisation would like to attend our supplier briefing and/or site visit, please email our Point of Contact below to register.

Before you bid on this tender

A quick checklist to help you decide whether to bid and prepare a compliant submission for this construction & infrastructure opportunity. Always verify the details on the official source.

  • Confirm the closing date and submission window on the official portal before you start preparing your bid.
  • Read the full notice and every attached document, including the scope, specifications and any bill of quantities or terms of reference.
  • Check the eligibility criteria — prior similar experience, annual turnover, certifications and registrations — and make sure you qualify before investing effort.
  • Prepare any earnest-money deposit (EMD) or bid security and the required formats early; missing or wrongly-formatted documents are a common cause of rejection.
