The Black Ideas Grant 4.0 – Catapult provides up to $80,000 in funding to support projects, programs, and services that directly benefit Black communities in Canada. The grant supports Black-led, Black-mandated, and Black-serving organizations and groups developing new initiatives or expanding and improving existing programs that address community needs, including socio-economic inclusion, arts and culture, health and wellness, community engagement, and anti-Black racism.

About the Black Ideas Grant 4.0 – Catapult

The Catapult Grant Stream is part of the Black Ideas Grant 4.0 and is designed to help Black-led organizations and groups develop practical and impactful initiatives for Black communities across Canada. The program supports both new ideas and established initiatives that are ready to grow, improve, or reach more people. Organizations can use the grant to experiment with new approaches or strengthen programs and services that have already demonstrated value within their communities. Grant Amount

Selected projects can receive:

- Up to $80,000 per project - Funding for the design and delivery of eligible projects, programs, or services - Support for both new initiatives and the expansion or enhancement of existing initiatives What Does the Catapult Grant Support? The Catapult Grant can support initiatives that directly benefit Black communities in Canada.

Eligible initiatives may focus on:

Who Is Eligible?

Eligible applicants can include:

- Registered charities - Incorporated non-profit organizations - Unincorporated groups - Collaboratives Applicants must be Black-led, Black-mandated, and Black-serving at all organizational levels. At least two-thirds of the organization’s: must identify as Black. Project Eligibility

The proposed initiative must:

- Be located in Canada - Serve Black communities in Canada - Directly benefit Black communities - Address a demonstrated community need - Be led by an eligible Black-led, Black-mandated, and Black-serving organization or group Applicants must also demonstrate a clear connection to the communities they serve. Community Connection and Support Applicants are expected to show that they have an established relationship with the Black communities that will benefit from the initiative.

- A clear connection between the applicant and the community - Understanding of the needs being addressed - Community involvement in the initiative - Support from community members or stakeholders - The expected benefits of the proposed project for Black Canadians Community support is an important part of demonstrating that the proposed initiative responds to real community needs.
