Municipality no. 5534Karlsøy municipality is located in Nord-Troms and has approx. 2,350 inhabitants. Hansnes is the municipal centre and is an hour's drive by car from Tromsø. Karlsøy municipality is an island community with ferry connections between Ringvassøy and Reinøy, Karlsøy, Vannøy and Rebbenesøy. Karlsøy municipality is responsible for road maintenance of approx. 25 km of municipal roads. Karlsøy municipality shall enter into new contracts for winter operations (snow clearing/clearing/gritting) on municipal roads and open spaces for all the areas in the municipality.
