Details
RFx ID: 35259387 Organisation: Department of Internal Affairs Open date: Monday, 19 October 2026 5:00 PM +13:00 Close date: Monday, 23 November 2026 5:00 PM +13:00 Categories: 43230000 - Software Region: New Zealand Overview: An opportunity to help build a more connected and resilient emergency management system for New Zealand NEMA is looking to the market for expertise, technology and proven solutions that can help strengthen how New Zealand prepares for, responds to and recovers from emergencies. Through the EMS-OS programme, we want to improve the systems that enable emergency management organisations to share information, build situational awareness, coordinate their activities, warn and inform the public, and make timely operational decisions. We recognise that the capability to achieve this exists across a diverse supplier market. Whether your organisation provides an established specialist product, a wider technology platform, data or connectivity services, or the capability to bring complex systems together, we want to understand how your expertise could contribute to better emergency management outcomes for New Zealand. This ROI is the first stage of an open, competitive multi-step procurement process. Suppliers can register their interest in one or more of the procurement packages and help NEMA understand the solutions, delivery models and integration approaches available in the market. Supplier briefing: Thursday, 22 October 2026, 2.00 pm (NZ time) NEMA will host a supplier briefing via Microsoft Teams to introduce the opportunity and explain the ROI and procurement process. The Microsoft Teams link will be provided on GETS. We encourage interested suppliers to attend and consider how their technology, services and expertise could help deliver a more connected and resilient emergency management capability for New Zealand. ROI closes: 5.00 pm, Monday, 23 November 2026

Before you bid on this tender
A quick checklist to help you decide whether to bid and prepare a compliant submission for this it & telecom opportunity. Always verify the details on the official source.
- Confirm the exact closing date and time (and time zone) on the official portal — deadlines are strict and can be revised by a corrigendum.
- Read the full notice and every attached document, including the scope, specifications and any bill of quantities or terms of reference.
- Check the eligibility criteria — prior similar experience, annual turnover, certifications and registrations — and make sure you qualify before investing effort.
- Prepare any earnest-money deposit (EMD) or bid security and the required formats early; missing or wrongly-formatted documents are a common cause of rejection.

- Watch for corrigenda and clarifications right up to the deadline — requirements and dates can change.
