Formålet med anskaffelsen er å anskaffe en høyytelses flowcytometrisk cellesorterer til bruk i et delt akademisk kjernefasilitetsmiljø som støtter avansert biomedisinsk forskning og livsvitenskapelig forskning.
Instrumentet vil bli benyttet av flere forskningsgrupper og brukere med ulik grad av teknisk kompetanse til anvendelser som multikolor celleanalyse, høyrenset cellesortering, enkeltcelledistribusjon og sortering av pattedyrceller og mikroorganismer. Høy driftsstabilitet, fleksibilitet og pålitelig langsiktig support er derfor avgjørende.
