The full extent of the work cannot be confirmed without intrusive investigation, the successful contractor will work with UC and its consultants to help confirm the detailed scope and delivery approach before completing the remedial work. The contract is intended to be delivered on a measure-and-value basis, with the main site works planned while the accommodation is available over the 2026–27 summer period. An experienced contractor with the technical capability, appropriately qualified and certified personnel, and resources to investigate the existing conditions and deliver the remedial works. This will include coordinating the specialist passive fire and supporting trades required to complete the work. The contractor will need to work collaboratively with UC and its consultants and be comfortable working on a measure-and-value basis, with the scope developing as further information becomes available. Clear cost, quality and compliance records will be required throughout delivery. Safe and compliant delivery is the priority. The work needs to be completed to the required standard, with clear quality assurance and records that support ongoing inspection and compliance. The programme is tight, making reliable resourcing, early mobilisation and clear communication important throughout delivery. A collaborative approach with UC and its consultants, together with transparent cost management under the measure-and-value model, will be important to keeping the project on track.
