Ullensvang kommune skal inngå kontrakt for kjøp av ny hamnebåt, som skal stetta dagens krav til beredskap og skal styrka transport og beredskap langs sjøvegen.

Det er lagt opp til at båten skal gå inn i den regionale beredskapsstrukturen i Hardanger, herunder med mål om å kunne bli brukt av andre offentlege aktørar.

Båten er tenkt som ein fleirfunksjonell ressurs som skal dekkje fleire kommunale oppgåver, som blant anna ISPS-kontroll, hamnetilsyn, infrastruktur, rashendingar og tilsyn.
