Mit dem Schuljahr 2026/27 tritt das Ganztagsförderungsgesetz (GaFöG) zum 01.08.2026 in Kraft. Die gesetzliche Verankerung im Rechtssystem findet sich im Achten Buch Sozialgesetzbuch (SGB VIII) im § 24 (4) wieder. Der neue § 24 (4) des SGB VIII definiert einen Förder- und Betreuungsanspruch von bis zu 8 Stunden täglich an Werktagen (hier: Montag bis Freitag) während der Schul- und Ferienzeiten. Die Einführung erfolgt stufenweise ab dem ersten Schuljahr und soll bis 2029/30 auf alle vier Jahrgänge der Grundschule ausgeweitet sein.
