Die Uniklinik RWTH Aachen hat im Förderaufruf "Demonstration und Erprobung innovativer Lösungen für die zivile Sicherheit" vom Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt Fördergelder für den Ausbau eines Fahrzeuges erhalten. Das Fahrzeug, auch "Mobiler Tele-Arbeitsplatz" ist ein Kastenfahrzeug oder Kofferaufbau, der ähnlich einem Einsatzleitwagen 1,5 mit zwei Arbeitsplätzen und einem Besprechungsbereich ausgestattet sein soll. Das Fahrzeug soll neben der technischen Ausstattung für Telemedizin, Telepflege und Tele-experten-gestützte Anwendungen mit Demonstratoren vorangegangener Forschungsprojekte ausgestattet werden. Damit soll es in zukünftigen Studien zum Einsatz kommen und eine Infrastruktur für technische Anwendungen, bspw. Telemedizin bieten. Die Ausschreibung umfasst die Beschaffung des Fahrgestells inkl. Ausbau als Kastenwagen oder Kofferaufbau mit einem Antennenmast und einer dachmontierten Drohne.
