Der Magistrat der Stadt Bensheim betreibt bereits eine auf VMware Cloud Foundation basierende Virtualisierungsinfrastruktur. Im Jahr 2023 wurden hierfür die entsprechenden VMware-Lizenzen sowie die zugehörige Dell VxRail P675F Hardware beschafft. Im Dezember 2026 endet die derzeitige Lizenzlaufzeit. Gegenstand dieser Ausschreibung ist daher die Verlängerung der VMware Cloud Foundation-Lizenzierung für weitere drei Jahre. Die vorhandene Dell VxRail P675F Server Hardware erfüllt weiterhin die bestehenden Leistungsanforderungen und soll unverändert weiterbetrieben werden. Für die Hardware ist daher keine Neubeschaffung vorgesehen. Ergänzend soll der bestehende Dell ProSupport Plus and 4Hr Mission Critical VSAN ELA für einen Zeitraum von einem Jahr verlängert werden.
