Das Ziel dieses Projektes ist die Herstellung der ökologischen Durchgängigkeit am Wehr Arnstadt (Fürstenbergwehr), in der Gera (Gewässer-km 43+634) in Arnstadt. Es wurden bereits Baugrunduntersuchungen für dieses Projekt durchgeführt und zwar im Bereich zwischen Gera und Mühlgraben. Auf Grund einer neuen Planungsvariante sind neue Baugrunduntersuchungen im Bereich des Flussbettes notwendig.
