Die Landesgartenschau Donauwörth 2028 GmbH schreibt für den künftigen Wörnitzpark Landschaftsbauarbeiten aus, einerseits für den Heilig-Kreuz-Garten (Ost), für den Parkplatz Stiftung sowie andererseits die temporären Anlagen der Durchführung der Gartenschau. Ziel der Planung für den heilig-Kreuz-Garten (Ost) ist es, die Freiräume mit Bewegungsangeboten, Wegebeziehungen und Parkeingängen funktional weiterzuentwickeln. Die Verbindung zwischen Stadt und Landschaft, insbesondere über den Stadtaufgang und zum Riedspitz, wird barrierearm ausgearbeitet. Im Bereich Parkplatz Stiftung wird der bestehende Parkplatz erweitert und in Teilflächen begrünt, im Heilig-Kreuz-Garten Ost werden bestehende Parkplatzflächen aufgelöst und eine hochwerte Freianlage mit einem Spielplatz und intensiven Gehölz- und Staudenflächen entwickelt. Für die Durchführung der Gartenschau werden Ausstellungsflächen vorbereitet.

Lots Lot 1 — Landschaftsbau Heilig-Kreuz-Garten Ost und Parkplatz Stiftung: Folgende Leistungen sind für die drei Teil-Bereiche auszuführen: - Abbrucharbeiten bestehender Freianlagen - Erdarbeiten, einschl. Unterbau mit hydr. Bindemitteln verbessern - Ver- und Entsorgungsanlagen (Abwasserentsorgung, Trinwasserversorgung, Beleuchtung) - ca. 120 m Granit-Blockstufen - ca. 100 m Sitzmauer ais Jurakalksteinblöcken - ca. 800 m2 Asphalttragdeckschicht mit einlagiger OB - ca. 350 m2 Kleinsteinpflaster aus Granit - ca. 10 St. Ausstattungselemente wie Bänke, Liegen und Schaukeln - ca. 64 St. Bäume, ca. 80 St. (Groß-) Sträucher und ca. 540 m2 Staudenpflanzflächen pflanzen sowie 175 m2 Rasen- und 5.650 m2 Wiesenflächen herstellen mit Fertigstellungs- und Entwicklungspflege bis Oktober 2028.
