Die Jenaer Bäder u. Freizeit GmbH beabsichtigt das Freizeitbad GalaxSea am Standort Rudolstädter Straße 37 in 07745 Jena umfassend zu modernisieren und insbesondere energetisch zu sanieren. Im Zuge der energetischen Sanierung sollen die ungedämmten Rutschen durch eine neue Anlage ersetzt, das Außenbecken umgebaut und eingehaust und das ehemalige Sportbecken klimatisch vom Kinder- und Erlebnisbereich getrennt werden. Ebenso sollen die Wasserflächen reduziert, die unterschiedlichen Wasserkreisläufe voneinander getrennt und die Innen- und Außensauna modernisiert werden. Die barrierefreie Zugänglichkeit des Freizeitbades soll durch zwei Aufzüge gewährleistet werden. Der Wellnessbereich im Obergeschoss soll als Personalbereich mit Umkleiden, Duschen, Aufenthaltsraum sowie Büroarbeitsplätzen umgebaut werden. Der neue Personalbereich soll aktuelle Arbeitsplatzvorgaben erfüllen und den Mitarbeitenden zeitgemäße Arbeitsbedingungen ermöglichen. Das ehemalige Schwimm- und Lehrschwimmbecken wird zu Sprung-/Tauchbecken und zum neuen Kinderbereich mit Spraypark und Trockenspielplatz umgeplant. Das ehemalige Kinderplanschbecken wird mit geringerer Wasserfläche mit unterschiedlichen Wassertiefen umgebaut. Die Gebäudetechnik soll erneuert, erweitert und den geänderten Bedürfnissen des Bades angepasst werden.
