Umbau und Erweiterung des Westpfalz-Klinikums am Standort Kirchheimbolanden Das Westpfalz-Klinikum liegt am westlichen Stadtrand von Kirchheimbolanden und besteht aus mehreren Bauteilen unterschiedlicher Entstehungszeiten. Den ältesten Teil der Anlage stellt das Bettenhaus 5 sowie der nördlich angebundene Behandlungsbau (Ambulanzen + OP) aus Mitte der 50er Jahre dar. In den 90er Jahren folgten Erweiterungsbauten an der OP-Abteilung, dem Eingangsbereich mit Cafeteria/Personalspeiseversorgung und der Intensivabteilung. Ab 2000 entstanden Anbauten am Kreißsaal, gefolgt von dem ambulanten OP-Zentrum und dem neuen Chefarztbereich 2011. Als letzter Baustein entstand in direkter Anbindung zur Notaufnahme das 4-geschossige MVZ. In südlicher, östlicher und nördlicher Richtung befinden sich Wohngebiete, in westlicher Richtung existiert in direkter Nähe keine Bebauung, sondern grüne Wiesen und Felder, die hangaufwärts zu bewaldeten Flächen führen. Im Zuge der geplanten Maßnahme erhält das Krankenhaus einen Neubau an der östlichen Seite des Klinikums, sowie eine Aufstockung in einem nord-östlichen Gebäudeteil.
