Lots Lot 1 — B042, Kestert-Ehrenthal, RGW: Im Hinblick auf die BUGA (Bundesgartenschau) 2029 ist der LBM bestrebt die rechtsrheinische Radwegeverbindung entlang der Bundesstraße 42 zwischen Koblenz und der Landesgrenze zu Hessen im Mittelrheintal auszubauen und somit die Lücken im Radwegenetz zu schließen. Im Zuge dessen, ist der Ausbau des Abschnittes zwischen der Südzufahrt der Gemeinde Kestert und dem Beginn der OD Ehrenthal von Station 4,349 bis 6,768 (NK 5711 031 nach 5812 022), dies entspricht den Bau -km 0+14,40 bis 2+428,00, bzw. (Rhein-km 560,1 bis 562,7) geplant. Die gewählte Linienführung wurde bestimmt durch die bestehende Bundestraße 42, die direkt angrenzende Uferböschung bzw. Ufermauer des Rheins und die auf der bergseitig der B 42 verlaufenden Bahnstrecke 3507 von Koblenz nach Wiesbaden. Im Zuge des Radwegeneubaus wird auch eine Oberbauverstärkung der Fahrbahn der B 42 und eine Erneuerung der Entwässerungseinrichtungen durchgeführt.
