From Skills to Success Microgrants for Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine The From Skills to Success project by People in Need provides microgrants to internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in the Lviv region of Ukraine to pursue professional training, retraining, or upskilling. Eligible participants can receive up to UAH 88,000 per person for professional education, including justified logistical assistance, to improve employment opportunities and strengthen economic independence. What Is the From Skills to Success Project? From Skills to Success is an educational and economic empowerment initiative designed to support internally displaced people in the Lviv region who need new or improved professional skills. The project responds to the needs of people displaced since February 24, 2022, helping participants gain qualifications that can improve their ability to find employment or start an economic activity.

The program can support:

- Professional training. - Retraining for a new occupation. - Upskilling. - Acquisition of employment-oriented qualifications. - Education that improves economic self-sufficiency. Training may be delivered online or offline, depending on the selected course and provider. Why Does This Microgrant Matter? Eligible participants can receive up to:

UAH 88,000 per person The support can cover the cost of professional training and, where justified, a one-time payment for logistical expenses. Professional Training Support Funding can be used to cover eligible costs associated with the selected professional training or educational service. Logistical Assistance Participants may receive one-time financial assistance of up to UAH 13,000 for justified logistical expenses. However, the total amount of support cannot exceed UAH 88,000 per participant, including any logistical assistance. How Is the Grant Paid? The training grant is not paid directly to the participant as a general cash grant. Instead, the funding is paid directly to the selected educational service provider in two installments: - 50% before the training begins. - 50% after successful completion and verification of the training. This structure links the second payment to the participant’s successful completion and verification of the agreed training. Who Is Eligible to Apply? The microgrant is intended for individuals who meet the project’s specific eligibility requirements.

Applicants must:

- Have official internally displaced person (IDP) status. - Have been displaced since February 24, 2022. - Reside in the Lviv region of Ukraine. - Not engage in entrepreneurial activity. - Seek professional training, retraining, or upskilling. - Select an eligible educational service provider. - Choose training that is relevant to employment or economic activity. What Does the Training Need to Achieve? The selected course must have a clear connection to the participant’s economic or professional development.

The training should help the participant:

Applicants should avoid selecting courses solely because they are personally interesting if there is no clear connection to employment or economic prospects. What Training Providers Are Eligible? Applicants must select an educational service provider that is officially registered to conduct educational activities in Ukraine. Before selecting a provider, applicants should verify that: - The provider is legally registered. - It is authorized to provide the relevant educational services. - The proposed course is professionally relevant. - The training can be completed within the applicable project requirements. The eligibility of the provider is important because the grant payments are made directly to the educational service provider. What Types of Training Are Eligible? The program can support professional education that improves employment prospects.

Examples may include:

- Professional qualification courses. - Retraining programs. - Specialized vocational training. - Advanced professional training. - Skills-development programs linked to employment. The key requirement is that the training should provide practical professional value and contribute to employment or economic opportunities. What Training Is Not Eligible? Several types of courses are specifically excluded from the program. The microgrant cannot normally be used for: - Foreign language courses. - Basic computer literacy courses. - Esoteric practices. - Pseudoscientific practices. - Driving courses, unless the driving qualification is required for employment. Applicants should therefore carefully assess whether their chosen course meets the program’s professional and employment-related requirements before applying. Can Training Be Online? Yes.

Training can be conducted:
