L’objecte d’aquest contracte administratiu és, segons característiques i condicions definides en la memòria justificativa de la contractació i en el plec de prescripcions tècniques, la fabricació i subministrament a l’Agència Catalana del Patrimoni Cultural d’un nou vaixell científic per poder desenvolupar les tasques d’inventari, protecció, conservació, estudi i difusió del patrimoni arqueològic subaquàtic per part del Centre d’Arqueologia Subaquàtica de Catalunya - Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya. S'inclou dins de l'objecte del contracte tota la tramitació de l'abanderament del vaixell, en llista 8ª i de tots dels certificats i permisos necessaris perquè el vaixell pugui navegar amb pavelló espanyol.
