About the European Media Art Platform Residency

The European Media Art Platform residency was established with support from the European Union’s Creative Europe programme. Applicants must:

- Apply as a duo or collective, or propose a collaborative project. - Be residents or taxpayers in an EU member state or an eligible non-EU country. - Have an artistic practice relevant to digital, media, robotic, bio art, or related fields. - Be able to develop the proposed project collaboratively. The programme welcomes emerging artists and does not impose an age restriction on emerging artists. Are Students Eligible? Undergraduate and Master’s students are not eligible for the residency. However, PhD candidates may apply, meaning doctoral-level researchers and artists can participate if they meet the other programme requirements. The programme is also open to emerging artists regardless of their age or academic background, provided they satisfy the applicable eligibility requirements. Collaboration Requirement Collaboration is a central element of the EMAP residency. Applicants cannot simply apply as an individual artist working alone. They must either apply as a duo or collective or propose a project that involves collaboration. Kick-Off Conference in Gijón, Spain Selected artists will also be invited to participate in the programme’s kick-off conference in Gijón, Spain. The conference provides an opportunity for participating artists to connect with other artists and members of the EMAP network at the beginning of the residency process.
