Overview of position Under the overall and direct supervision of the DTM Programme Officer, and in close coordination with the DTM Snr. Programme Associate, the successful candidate’s primary role will be to provide administrative and overall project support for the implementation of the Displacement Tracking Matrix project in Nigeria. Role objectives - Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities. - Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics. - Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information. - Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc. - Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor. - Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation. - Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions. - Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records. - Perform other related duties as assigned Project reporting This role will work under the overall and direct supervision of the DTM Programme Officer, and in close coordination with the DTM Snr. Programme Associate Key competencies - Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations; - Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and, - Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. - In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration-related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; - Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming. - Knowledge of financial rules and regulations. - Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). - Strong logistics skills related to the implementation of project activities. - Good communication skills and proven ability to work in a team. - High level of computer literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). - Ability to independently carry out tasks. - Ability to multi-task and prioritize required. ▪ Ability to work effectively with government counterparts. - Excellent attention to detail and ability to collect statistical information accurately and maintain records. - Demonstrated ability to maintain detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. - Ability to work effectively with different levels within and outside the organization and with colleagues from various cultural and professional backgrounds. - Working knowledge of the local languages in the Northeast, north-west and north-central. - Respects and promotes individual and cultural differences.
