Introduction to EIFO

EIFO was established as an independent public enterprise pursuant to Act No. 871 of 21 June 2022 on Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (the “EIFO Act”). EIFO serves as Denmark’s official export credit agency (ECA) and national promotional bank (NPB).

EIFO provides financing and risk capital with the aim of promoting growth and innovation in Danish businesses, supporting their export and internationalisation activities, and contributing to a sustainable and green transition. As a state-owned financial institution with a global perspective and an AAA credit rating, EIFO offers a range of financial solutions to Danish companies and their international customers and partners. EIFO also invests directly in companies and in funds, including funds focused on innovation and technology.

EIFO complements the private market by providing financing and risk capital in areas where private market participants are generally unable or unwilling to undertake the relevant activity due to its nature, scale or associated risk. In this capacity, EIFO supports Danish companies at different stages of development, ranging from start-ups and SMEs with growth ambitions to established export companies seeking financing for international expansion and entry into new markets.

In cooperation with Danish and international banks, financial institutions, leasing companies and investors, EIFO provides, among other things, loans, guarantees and various forms of equity financing to Danish companies across all stages of their development.

This tender concerns a contract for EIFO’ Directors and Officers insurance (D&O insurance) covering the primary layer.
