Data collection for 5-country technology adoption survey in energy-intensive industries

Invitation to Expression of interest (EoI) Data Collection Services for a Five-Country Technology Adoption Survey in Energy-Intensive Industries The World Bank is implementing a Firm Adoption of Technology (FAT) survey covering representative samples in energy intensive sectors in five EU countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Poland and Romania). The total target sample is 650 establishments. The sample will cover five energy-intensive

sectors: chemicals, cement, iron & steel, bricks, and glass. The

questionnaire will include a general module covering standard firm characteristics and business practices, as well as sector-specific modules. The survey is expected to be administered mainly in person using computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) in the relevant local languages and at each firm’s premises. Each interview is expected to take on average 45-60 minutes. The World Bank is developing an initial sampling frame, which will inform the allocation of target sample across sectors and countries. The selected vendor may, however, be required to enhance this sampling frame or develop an appropriate sampling frame using its own resources while adhering to the specified proportional allocation criteria. The vendor will be expected to provide data collection in all five countries. Firms may submit proposals as part of a consortium with one or more other companies. Please note that this assignment requires survey data collection services only, rather than market research.
