De Opdracht omvat de aanschaf, onderhoud en reparatie van landbouw, grondverzet en tuin&park machines. De Politie beschikt over een aantal terreinen, hondenlocaties en maneges waar dergelijke machines worden ingezet. Ook worden dergelijke machines en/of voertuigen in sommige gevallen operationeel ingezet. Vanwege de diversiteit aan de behoefte, is het niet mogelijk om vooraf een volledig overzicht te geven van de behoefte. Vanwege deze diversiteit aan behoefte, heeft de Politie besloten om een DAS in te richten. Politie streeft ernaar om hiermee laagdrempelig een brede markt te kunnen benaderen.
