Předmětem VZ je zajištění státních hmotných rezerv formou rezervace 100 tun vepřové dušené šunky (dále také „vepřová šunka“) s podmínkou možného budoucího odkoupení celého rezervovaného objemu vepřové šunky nebo její části. Hmotná rezerva bude v souladu se zákonem č. 97/1993 Sb., o působnosti Správy státních hmotných rezerv, ve znění pozdějších předpisů, považována za majetek České republiky s příslušností hospodařit pro zadavatele (k převodu vlastnického práva na Českou republiku dochází až na základě Kupní smlouvy při faktickém odkoupení (vyskladnění) předmětu rezervace). Předmět VZ je rozdělen na 2 (dvě) části: 1. část VZ: rezervace 50 tun vepřové šunky – balení plátky, 2. část VZ: rezervace 50 tun vepřové šunky – balení vcelku.
