Sustav omogućuje detaljan prikaz površinskih struktura, digitalno snimanje i pohranu fotografija i videozapisa te usporedbu uzoraka. Sustav sadržava digitalnu kameru visoke rezolucije, sustav objektiva te omogućuje metalografsku analizu pripremljenih uzoraka materijala uz korištenje pripadajućeg softvera za obradu slike, mjerenje i analizu rezultata.
