Details

The Inter-American Development Bank invites consulting firms to submit their Expression of Interest to study the flow rates and characteristics of wastewater from the sanitation system of Montevideo, Uruguay, and to develop the pre-design of the Villa García treatment plant.

1. Study of wastewater flows and sources

Analyze the input basins, estimate theoretical flows, process measurements and characterize the main sources of wastewater, identifying variations and pollutant loads.

2. Chemical Characterization and Treatment

Evaluate laboratory results, determine recommended doses of coagulants and flocculants, and analyze the efficiency, sludge generation, and operating conditions of chemically assisted treatment.

3. Pre-design of the Villa García plant

Compare technological alternatives, select the recommended solution and pre-size the treatment, disinfection and sludge management units. Evaluate their integration with the existing infrastructure and estimate investments and operating costs.

4. Reuse and technical documentation

Analyze the feasibility of treated water reuse, define possible applications and deliver editable calculation memories, models, plans and technical diagrams. Interested companies should carefully review the registration requirements on the relevant IDB portal and ensure that all requested information is completed before submitting their Statement of Interest (EOI).

Before you bid on this tender

A quick checklist to help you decide whether to bid and prepare a compliant submission for this water & environment opportunity. Always verify the details on the official source.

  • Confirm the exact closing date and time (and time zone) on the official portal — deadlines are strict and can be revised by a corrigendum.
  • Read the full notice and every attached document, including the scope, specifications and any bill of quantities or terms of reference.
  • Check the eligibility criteria — prior similar experience, annual turnover, certifications and registrations — and make sure you qualify before investing effort.
  • Prepare any earnest-money deposit (EMD) or bid security and the required formats early; missing or wrongly-formatted documents are a common cause of rejection.
