The Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough would like to invite suppliers to attend a Market Engagement Event in relation to a Child Focused Court Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (IDVA) Support Service within the county’s Family Courts. The event will take place on 17th September 2026, at 2pm via Microsoft Teams. This engagement event is to provide an overview of the service requirements, commissioning intentions and timelines for this procurement which is being run by the Commissioner’s Office on behalf of the Ministry of Justice Family Justice System Improvement Team. The aims and objectives of the new service are to:
- Improve the Family Court experience for all parties, particularly parent victims of domestic abuse and their children. Improving children’s experience of and (appropriate) participation in the court process.
- Adopt a multi-agency approach to improve coordination between the Family Court and agencies, such as local authorities and the police, and the way allegations of domestic abuse and other risks of harm are dealt with.
- Deliver a more efficient court process which reduces delays whilst ensuring that all orders are safe and appropriate to the case.
- Reduce the re-traumatisation of domestic abuse victims, including children, that may be experienced during proceedings.
- Reduce the number of returning cases through a more sustainable court order.
The anticipated publication date for this procurement is 23 September 2026. Please note that this procurement relates to a light touch contract as defined under Section 9 of the Procurement Act 2023.
