About the Safety and Recovery Academy

- The Safety and Recovery Academy is designed for women leaders of civil society organizations that have experience working with vulnerable populations and intend to deliver professional social services within their communities. - Participants will learn about the role of civil society organizations in Ukraine’s social service system and explore practical approaches for strengthening their organizations’ capacity to operate in the social sector. - The program combines technical knowledge, practical examples, peer learning, and individual mentorship. It also supports participating organizations in preparing to obtain official status as social service providers. Focus Areas The program focuses on the role of civil society organizations in social service delivery, the legal process for becoming an officially recognized social service provider, organizational capacity development, budget advocacy, donor resource mobilization, social contracting, work with vulnerable communities, and the prevention of professional and emotional burnout. Participants will also learn from the practical experience of Zoria Nadii, the Association of Women of Ukraine, Bebiko, and other organizations successfully providing social services. Training Benefits and Participant Support The opportunity does not provide a cash grant to participating organizations. Instead, selected participants will receive training, practical assistance, and material support.

The organizers will provide:

- Training and methodological materials - Meals during the program - Accommodation - Reimbursement of travel expenses when valid travel documents are provided - Two hours of individual post-training mentoring for each participating organization Travel reimbursement is available upon presentation of relevant supporting documents, including bus tickets. Post-Training Mentorship After completing the academy, every participating organization will receive two hours of individual mentoring. The mentorship will help organizations review and update their governing documents where necessary. It will also support them in completing the process required for inclusion in Ukraine’s official Register of Social Service Providers. Who Is Eligible? The opportunity is open to civil society organizations operating in the Ternopil region. Applicants must meet the following conditions: - The organization must be led by a woman. - The participating applicant must be a leader of the organization. - The organization must have experience working with vulnerable groups. - The organization must intend to provide professional social services in its community.
