The SGP8 Landscape Level NGO Hub Grant supports eligible NGOs in Catanduanes and the Cluster 6 River Basin in Northern Samar, Philippines, to coordinate, strengthen, and build the capacity of local organizations working toward integrated landscape and seascape management. The grant forms part of the Eighth Operational Phase of the Small Grants Programme (SGP8), which builds on more than three decades of supporting civil society and community-based organizations to implement community-driven initiatives that combine biodiversity conservation with sustainable livelihood development. What Is the Landscape Level NGO Hub Grant? The Landscape Level NGO Hub Grant is designed to support a central NGO that can serve as a coordination and capacity-building hub for organizations participating in SGP8 projects. A successful Hub will work with NGOs, community-based organizations (CBOs), and civil society organizations (CSOs) involved in SGP8 activities. The Hub is expected to strengthen communication, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technical capacity across the participating organizations. Where Will the Hub Grant Operate? The grant supports a Landscape Level NGO Hub in either of two target areas: - Catanduanes - Cluster 6 River Basin, Northern Samar The selected NGO should have a strong connection to the target landscape and demonstrate experience working with local stakeholders. Role of the Landscape Level NGO Hub The Hub will function as a focal point for organizations implementing SGP8 projects within the selected landscape.

Its responsibilities will include:

The Hub is therefore intended to provide support throughout the SGP8 programme cycle rather than simply implement an individual project. Coordination and Communication Effective coordination is an important part of integrated landscape and seascape management. The Hub will facilitate communication among organizations working within the landscape, helping them share experiences, coordinate activities, and identify opportunities for collaboration. Improved coordination can also help participating organizations learn from one another and strengthen the overall impact of SGP8 interventions. Capacity Building for Local Organizations The grant places significant emphasis on strengthening the capacity of local organizations. The Hub will provide opportunities for NGOs, CBOs, and CSOs to improve their knowledge, organizational capabilities, and ability to implement community-driven environmental and development initiatives. Capacity-building support will be provided according to the needs of participating organizations throughout the programme cycle. Technical Assistance The selected Hub organization will provide technical assistance to SGP8 proponents and participating organizations. This assistance is intended to help organizations address technical and operational needs associated with their projects and improve the quality of their implementation. The Hub can therefore act as a continuing source of expertise for organizations working on integrated landscape and seascape initiatives. Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices Another important function of the Hub is to serve as a resource center.
