Details
UN Women Bosnia and Herzegovina invites civil society organizations (CSOs) to apply for funding aimed at enhancing the safety, resilience, and collective action of women human rights defenders and women journalists. This initiative seeks to combat gendered hate speech and related threats through comprehensive support mechanisms and advocacy efforts. Proposals must be submitted by 9 November 2026. This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of women human rights defenders and women journalists by addressing the pervasive issue of gendered hate speech and associated threats. The program will provide integrated safety, legal, psychosocial, and digital-security support, alongside mentoring, peer networks, and advocacy opportunities. This will enable participants to engage more safely and meaningfully in public discourse, decision-making, and peacebuilding processes. The indicative budget for this program is between BAM 200,000 and 220,000. The funding will support activities over a two-year period from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2028. Selected CSOs will benefit from collaborative frameworks and enhanced capacity to address key challenges faced by women defenders and journalists. This funding opportunity is crucial for enhancing the role and safety of women human rights defenders and journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By mitigating risks associated with gendered hate speech and enabling safe participation in public spheres, the initiative supports broader gender equality and societal resilience. Interested CSOs should carefully review the official Call for Proposal guidelines and ensure compliance with all requirements. For further clarification, contact the provided UN Women representative. Prepare your application to leverage this opportunity to support women’s rights and safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
