Call for Project Proposals Under the Scheme Major and Minor Research Projects 2026-27

Job Description About us Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) was established in the year of 1969 by the Government of India to promote research in social sciences in the country. ICSSR provide grants for projects, fellowships, international collaboration, capacity building, survey, publications etc. to promote research in social sciences in India. Documentation center of ICSSR - National Social Science Documentation Centre (NASSDOC) - provides library and information support services to researchers in social sciences. ICSSR has developed ICSSR Data Service to serve as a national data service for promoting powerful research environment through sharing and reuse of data among social science community in India. The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) invites research project proposals from Indian scholars, researchers, and academicians under its Major and Minor Research Projects Scheme for the Financial Year 2026–2027. Applicants are advised to carefully read the Scheme Guidelines before filling out the online application form. Research proposals must be prepared strictly in the prescribed format provided in the online application form, and no separate proposal document should be uploaded. To avoid last-minute technical issues, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well before the closing date. Applications will be accepted only through the online portal. Applicants are not required to send a hard copy of the application or any supporting documents to ICSSR.
