Bergen vann vil inngå en rammeavtale for kjøp av fjernavleste vannmålere med tilhørende kommunikasjonssystem. Det vil inngås avtale med en leverandør. Avtalen har en maksimal varighet på 8 år. Opprinnelig avtaleperiode er 4 år, med mulighet til årlig forlengelse.Det fremkommer av kravspesifikasjon og konkurransedokumenter hvilke krav som stilles til vannmålerne og kommunikasjonssystem.Det pågår rutinemessig utskifting av vannmålere som nærmer seg utløp av levetid basert på prioriteringslister.Status aktive vannmålere Bergen kommune:Totalt: ca. 5600 stk.Hvorav privat bolig: ca. 1368 stk.I årene fra 2006-2026 har det blitt installert i snitt ca. 200 nye vannmålere per år.I løpet av de 6-8 neste årene forventer Bergen Vann rutinemessig utskifting og nyinstallering av ca. 2500 stk vannmålere.
