Details

RFx ID: 35317603 Organisation: New Zealand Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi) - HISTORIC Open date: Friday, 23 October 2026 3:30 PM +13:00 Close date: Thursday, 26 November 2026 4:00 PM +13:00 Categories: 81100000 - Professional engineering services Region: Auckland Overview: NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) invites tenders from suitably qualified consultants for the SH16 Brigham Creek Roundabout Improvements Detailed Design contract. The procurement forms part of the Auckland Network Optimisation Programme and supports improvements at the SH16 / Brigham Creek Road / Fred Taylor Drive intersection in northwest Auckland. The existing intersection is experiencing increasing congestion and operational constraints. This project seeks to progress a signalised roundabout solution that will improve operational performance, increase intersection capacity, support forecast growth in travel demand, and integrate with the future SH16 Brigham Creek to Waimauku Stage 2 project. NZTA is seeking a consultant team to develop the current concept design into a coordinated, consentable and constructable detailed design package. The scope includes investigations, detailed design, coordination, statutory approvals, technical specifications, tender documentation and associated technical support required to prepare the project for future implementation. The resulting technical package will be incorporated into the future SH16 Brigham Creek to Waimauku Stage 2 physical works procurement. A particular focus of this procurement is the successful delivery of a complex signalised roundabout design within a live state highway environment. Tenderers must demonstrate experience in signalised roundabout design, state highway design, statutory approvals, utility coordination and construction-ready documentation. International experience with signalised roundabouts is encouraged. The consultant will be required to work closely with NZTA and other specialist providers engaged separately by NZTA, including traffic modelling, traffic signal phasing, cost estimation, quantitative risk assessment and implementation programme development. The consultant will also be required to coordinate with the SH16 Brigham Creek to Waimauku Stage 2 project team, Brigham Creek Rarawaru Station project team and other project interfaces. A Group Inception Meeting will be held at 10am on Thursday, 29th October 2026. NZTA has a DataRoom with supporting technical information available on request.
