Details

The American Himalayan Foundation (AHF) is inviting grassroots organizations in Nepal to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the Emerging Partners Initiative. This initiative aims to support locally led projects that make a meaningful impact in Nepali communities. Successful applicants may receive funding for projects implemented over approximately one year, with a focus on building long-term partnerships. The deadline for EOIs is 15 December 2026. The Emerging Partners Initiative by AHF seeks to identify and support new grassroots organizations in Nepal that have the potential to become strong partners. AHF is particularly interested in organizations demonstrating good leadership, effective program delivery, financial accountability, and community engagement. This initiative is designed to foster new relationships and support impactful local projects. Applicants may request grants ranging from NPR 1,520,000 to NPR 7,600,000. The funding should be aligned with the realistic budgetary needs of the proposed project. AHF encourages applicants to include costs related to Social Welfare Council compliance and audits. The grant provides an opportunity for organizations to demonstrate their capacity to manage funds responsibly and implement effective community projects.

Eligible organizations must:

Organizations led by or serving women, gender and sexual minorities, marginalized caste and Indigenous communities, and people with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply. Current or former AHF partners, organizations with political affiliations, and projects focused primarily on research are not eligible. This initiative is crucial for identifying new grassroots partners in Nepal that can address local challenges effectively. It allows AHF to connect with organizations capable of making a sustainable impact in their communities, fostering long-term development and resilience. For detailed guidance, preview the application questions. Do we have to request the maximum grant amount? No. Request only the funding necessary for your project. A realistic and well-justified budget is competitive. Can existing projects apply? Yes. Both new and existing projects are eligible. Does our organization need to be large? No. AHF is interested in grassroots organizations regardless of size. Is registration mandatory? Yes. Organizations must be registered in Nepal. Can multiple EOIs be submitted? No. Submit your strongest proposal only. Will we be contacted if our EOI is unsuccessful? Only shortlisted organizations will be contacted. Interested organizations should carefully review eligibility criteria and prepare their EOIs with the necessary information about their organization and proposed project.
