The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, in collaboration with the UN Youth Group chaired by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), invites young Zimbabweans to participate in the Zimbabwe Youth Innovation HackLab 2026. This initiative aims to support youth-led solutions to Zimbabwe’s pressing development challenges. Interested applicants must submit their ideas by 20 October 2026. The Zimbabwe Youth Innovation HackLab 2026 is an initiative designed to mobilise and support innovative solutions from young people in Zimbabwe. It aligns with the Zimbabwe National Youth Empowerment Strategy (NYES 2026-2030) and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The HackLab aims to address core challenges identified through collaborative workshops involving youth, governmental bodies, UN agencies, and civil society. Participants in the HackLab will receive seed support to prototype their solutions within a 12-month period. This is an opportunity for young innovators to transition their ideas into tangible projects with real-world impact. The HackLab prioritises innovation ideas that: This initiative empowers young Zimbabweans by providing them with a platform to develop and implement solutions that can effectively tackle key developmental issues in their communities. By participating, youth can engage in a meaningful co-design process that not only supports their personal growth but also contributes to national development goals.
