About the organization

ChangeX is a community engagement platform designed to get funding and resources directly into the hands of people to lead impactful projects in their neighbourhoods. We work with social innovators to scale proven solutions to environmental, economic, and social issues and partner with companies and foundations to support local communities with the necessary funding. Our funders include ServiceNow, the LEGO Foundation, and Paramount, among others. ChangeX is an international non-profit organisation, set up in 2015 and headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, with teams based across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Now in its fourth year, ChangeX and ServiceNow’s sustainability-focused collaboration has funded more than 80 community projects across 11 countries to date.

About the grant

ChangeX and ServiceNow have launched a new community fund to support local solar projects in Hyderabad and Bangalore. Non-profits, schools and public institutions can apply for support and expert guidance to start one of seven ready-to-launch community solar projects, working alongside a skilled implementation partner. The seven ready-to-launch ideas are designed to support the introduction of reliable solar energy in specific community settings, such as government schools, early childhood centres, hospitals, health centres, and community halls. There are also two ideas focused on using solar energy to transform public spaces: restoring urban lake health and transforming urban parks. Nirmaan Organization, a non-profit that works to build inclusive, empowered communities through education, skills, and sustainability initiatives, will work with successful applicants to implement their solar projects. Funding will be managed by the implementation partner (in this case Nirmaan Organization), who will receive and administer the grant and work with successful applicants to implement your project.

Eligibility

- Projects must address the theme of sustainable infrastructure (solar) with an emphasis on supporting positive, inclusive outcomes for local communities. - Projects must take place in Hyderabad or Bangalore. - Successful applicants must complete their project and submit an impact report with both qualitative and quantitative data within 12 months of receiving funds. - Applicants must be a nonprofit, school, or public institutions (relevant documentation will need to be provided). - Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria listed on the specific idea page. Funding will be managed by a designated partner organisation associated with the idea, who will receive and administer the grant and work with you to implement the project. - Projects should include opportunities for ServiceNow employees to volunteer in the project activation or implementation. How to apply - Apply through the ChangeX website (link below) by 13 October, 2026. - Wait for your application to be reviewed. We'll let you know if it was successful by 3 December, 2026. - If successful, complete some simple steps within 30 days before starting your project. - Make your project happen, and share your project's impact with us.
