The International Scholarships Programme offers outstanding professionals from Grenada the opportunity to pursue a fully funded one-year master’s degree at any eligible UK university. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, international travel, and additional allowances, with recipients expected to return to Grenada for at least two years after completing their studies.

About the International Scholarships Programme

The programme is designed to develop future leaders and professionals by providing access to high-quality postgraduate education in the United Kingdom. Successful scholars can study a one-year master’s programme in any subject at an eligible UK university. The scholarship is intended for professionals who can demonstrate leadership potential and explain how their UK education will contribute to the development of Grenada. A key condition of the award is that scholars must return to Grenada for at least two years after completing their studies. Scholarship Benefits The International Scholarships Programme provides comprehensive financial support for successful applicants.

The scholarship generally covers:

Full tuition fees for the approved master’s programme. Living expenses through a monthly stipend. Return travel between Grenada and the UK. Additional allowances provided under the scholarship terms. Other approved costs associated with studying in the UK. This makes the opportunity suitable for qualified Grenadian professionals who require substantial financial assistance to undertake postgraduate study overseas. Who Is Eligible? Applicants must meet the programme’s nationality, education, professional experience, university application, and return-home requirements. Nationality and Residency Requirements

Applicants must:

Be a citizen of Grenada. Intend to return to Grenada after completing the scholarship. Commit to living and working in Grenada for at least two years after the scholarship ends. Academic Requirements

Applicants must:

Hold an undergraduate degree. Have completed their undergraduate degree at least two years before the application deadline. Meet the academic and admission requirements of their selected UK master’s programmes. Professional Experience

Applicants must have:

At least two years of work experience. A professional background demonstrating their potential to contribute to Grenada’s development. UK University Applications Candidates must apply to three eligible UK master’s courses. They must subsequently receive at least one unconditional offer from an eligible UK university by the specified scholarship deadline. Who Is Not Eligible? Certain applicants are excluded from the programme.

Ineligible categories include:

Individuals holding British citizenship. Individuals with dual British citizenship, except where specific exemptions apply, such as British Overseas Territories or British National (Overseas) status from Hong Kong. Individuals who have refugee status in a country that is not eligible for the programme. People currently resident in the UK, except where programme rules provide an applicable British Overseas Territories exception. Employees and certain recent former employees of specified UK government-related organisations and their associated organisations, where applicable under the scholarship rules. Applicants should carefully review the official eligibility requirements before submitting an application. How the Scholarship Works The application process involves both the scholarship application and applications to UK universities.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

Confirm that you:

Are a citizen of Grenada. Hold an eligible undergraduate degree. Have at least two years of work experience. Meet the required degree-completion timeframe. Can demonstrate leadership potential and development impact. Are willing to return to Grenada for at least two years.

Step 2: Select Three UK Master’s Courses

Applicants must identify three eligible master’s courses at UK universities. The courses should align with the applicant’s academic background, professional experience, career objectives, and plans for contributing to Grenada.

Step 3: Apply to the Universities

Submit applications to all three selected UK master’s programmes. Applicants should monitor each university’s admission process and ensure that required documents are submitted on time.

Step 4: Secure an Unconditional Offer

Applicants must obtain at least one unconditional offer from an eligible UK university by the required deadline. An unconditional offer means the university has confirmed admission without outstanding academic or other conditions that must first be satisfied.

Step 5: Demonstrate Development Impact

A strong application should clearly explain: Why the chosen field of study is important. How the degree will strengthen the applicant’s professional capabilities. How they will apply those skills after returning to Grenada. How their future work can contribute to Grenada’s social, economic, institutional, or professional development.

Step 6: Commit to Returning to Grenada

Successful scholars must return to Grenada and remain there for a minimum of two years after completing the scholarship. This return requirement is a central part of the programme and should be reflected clearly in the applicant’s career plans. Why This Scholarship Matters The programme provides Grenadian professionals with access to advanced postgraduate education without requiring them to personally finance the major costs of studying in the UK. Beyond academic qualifications, the scholarship focuses on leadership development, professional experience, and national development. The return requirement also helps ensure that the knowledge and skills gained through UK study can benefit Grenada after scholars complete their degrees. Key Requirements at a Glance
