Anskaffelsen består av ett kjøp av vare og årlig serviceavtale.Forsvarets laboratorietjeneste (FOLAT) har til hensikt å anskaffe nytt mikroskop av typen Scanning Electron Microscope om benyttes i forbindelse med understøttelse av blant annet «chip-warning» og skade/havari-analyser på Forsvarets materiellsystemer innenfor et vidt spekter av oppdrag.I tillegg er det behov for årlig serviceavtale på materiellet, inkludert bytting av deler. Forlengelse av serviceavtale utover materiellets antatte levetid (10 år), inngår som en del av avtalen.
