The fellowship includes:

- A year-long mentorship focused on the craft of fiction writing with One Story magazine. - Access to One Story’s online classes. - Admission to the Writing Circle. - A $2,000 stipend. - Free admission to One Story’s week-long summer writers’ conference. - A full manuscript review and consultation with One Story’s Executive Editor. Year-Long Fiction Writing Mentorship The selected writer receives year-long mentorship focused on the craft of fiction writing. This provides an opportunity for the fellow to receive sustained guidance while developing their writing and advancing their creative work. The mentorship is provided in partnership with One Story magazine. One Story Classes and Writing Circle The fellow receives access to One Story’s online classes as part of the programme. The fellowship also includes admission to the Writing Circle, providing an additional opportunity for writing development and engagement with the literary community. $2,000 Fellowship Stipend The selected fellow receives a $2,000 stipend as part of the fellowship. The conference features:

The manuscript can be a story collection or novel in progress and may be up to: - 150 pages, or - 35,000 words. This editorial support is intended to help the fellow strengthen a substantial fiction project. Who Can Apply? The fellowship is open to early-career fiction writers who meet specific eligibility requirements.

Applicants must:

- Be early-career fiction writers. - Have not published a book in any genre or language. - Have never been enrolled in an advanced degree programme such as an MA or MFA in Creative Writing, English, or Literature. - Have no plans to attend an advanced degree programme in Creative Writing, English, or Literature during the 2027 calendar year. - Be at least 21 years old as of January 1, 2027.
