About the Project

CINI is currently implementing a project which aims to create a positive impact and improve living conditions for all urban poor communities, enabling them to live with dignity. By addressing the unique challenges faced by these communities, the project aims to create improved and harmonious living conditions for all groups within the urban poor. Specifically, the project targets women, girls, children, youths, and transgender individuals residing in urban and suburban slums and squatter colonies across three cities.

Through a comprehensive approach, the project will seek to provide these communities with enhanced access to essential resources such as healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities. By addressing the hostile internal and external social environment that often hampers their progress, the project will aim to break down barriers and empower individuals to thrive. One crucial aspect of the project will be gender sensitization. By engaging various urban communities and institutions, the project will endeavour to challenge and overcome unjust social practices that disproportionately affect girls, women, and members of the LGBTIQ communities. This sensitization process will be designed to foster a more inclusive and equitable environment that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals. Youth empowerment is another important aspect of the project. By equipping young individuals, regardless of their gender identity, with the necessary qualifications and skills, the project will aim to open doors for meaningful career opportunities. This initiative not only contributes to bridging the gender divide but also seeks to empower young people to shape their futures and become agents of change within their communities. Furthermore, the project will focus on expanding women's career options. By providing women with the opportunity to pursue non-traditional career paths, the project will aim to challenge societal norms and promote gender equality. Through this initiative, women will be encouraged to explore diverse career options, enabling them to broaden their choices and overcome traditional gender limitations.

Additionally, the project will strive to improve access to entitlements for multiple families residing in specific urban communities. This includes facilitating access to essential services related to health, education for children, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities. By enhancing access to these
